PRAY WITHOUT CEASING ( I Thessalonians 5:17)
PRAY for peace; PRAY for provision; PRAY for love; PRAY for safety and protection; PRAY for our troops, their families, your families, your friends, and your enemies; PRAY that the Lord work mightily across this region of Southern Illinois and across our great nation

Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5

The Lamb on the Throne

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;

he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe

away every tear from their eyes.

-- Revelation 7:17

So often while reading Revelation, we only focus on the battles that will take place in the end times.  Our vision is clouded perhaps by the fear of the tribulation, yet we are anxious for the victory of the Lamb.  So many written interpretations and commentaries of Revelation tend to highlight the enemy's attacks on the saints.  And many believers are able to quote the passages that relate to these battles.

But as with every book in the Bible, the goodness of our Lord and Savior is evident in Revelation too.  The verse above brings me incredible peace and joy...to know that God will wipe every tear from my eyes.  And to be able to gaze upon the Lamb at the center of the throne, knowing He will lead me to springs of living water...that is worth living for.

My eyes have cried themselves dry many times.  I'm certain many of you have cried so much your eyes have no more tears left to give.  And this life will bring more tears; it is inevitable.  We are not promised a life upon the mountaintop free from pain.  But we are promised a Savior who will walk with us, talk with us, and lighten our burden.

Allow God to wipe away your tears.  Trust that He cries with you in your pain.  As you feel your child's pain, whether physical or emotional, how much more does our Heavenly Father feel our pain.  Lean on Jesus; His strength is unmatchable.  Cry out to Him in pain and in anger, as your children cry out to you.  They do not love you any less, nor do we love Jesus any less....we just simply hurt.

Allow the Holy Spirit to pour His perfect peace over your body, spirit, and mind...be quiet...listen to the softness of His voice...feel the gentleness of His touch...lay your head on His lap and rest.

God Bless You.

"Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Overcomers
By John Ogden Sr.
July 21, 2008

1 John 5:4-5
, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that overcomes the world – our faith.  Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

Our greatest opportunity lies in the faith of God.  When God’s faith is present in us, we become world changers, for we operate from a plane of true confidence in God.  Though our world is filled with worry, fear, and anxiety, we need to remember that only the love and the faith of God that flows from Heaven to us can enable us to be overcomers.

Many people move through life with a casual relationship with our Lord and Savior.  To be overcomers requires a faith that is beyond that of the natural man – a faith that only comes from God.  The greatest weakness in life is unbelief.  We may go through all of the motions of “Christianity”, but our lives remain unchanged.  Unbelief is the enemy of faith and will cause complacency to settle in.  To be an overcomer, we must have enough faith to allow God to continually mold, shape and stretch us.  We must have faith to stand when He says stand, even though we may not understand or like where we are.

We have access to unlimited power as children of God.  We cannot access this power from a natural mindset.  We must truly put God first in all that we do, not just on Sunday mornings, but every day.  Our cry must be for more of God; for as we truly seek Him and His ways, He will reveal Himself and equip us for the work that He has laid before us.  We are truly more than overcomers by the blood of Christ.  This is not of ourselves, but through His divine plan.

Have you truly given Him the reigns to your life, so that in all things you can be more than an overcomer?
